By using a combination of techniques I can help you to make positive changes in your life. These techniques include hypnotherapy, hypnosis, life coaching, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). There is a short introduction to each below to help you gain a better understanding.
Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic tool that deals with the causes of problems rather than the symptoms. Hypnotherapy is a safe and natural method of treating a wide variety of conditions, for both adults and children.
Hypnotherapy is not stage hypnosis – I cannot control your mind, and therefore cannot make you do or say anything that you do not wish to. However, I will be able to give your sub-conscious mind positive suggestions to help you reach the goals that you have set for yourself.
Hypnosis is a state of total physical and mental relaxation and heightened awareness, which allows the conscious mind to be bypassed, and leaves the subconscious mind open to receive positive suggestions. The subconscious is the most dominant part of your mind. It is nature’s complex computer that stores every feeling, event, and idea you have ever heard, seen or felt.
Whilst in a trance state (total relaxation), I can work with you to make positive, beneficial suggestions to enable you to overcome unwanted behaviors, habits, self imposed limitations and phobias.
Most people find hypnosis extremely pleasant, calming and relaxing, feelings which often continue well after the treatment has finished.

As you make a change, you may experience some of the fear or self-doubt that is often accompanied by it. Life Coaching is the process of assisting people to improve the quality of their lives. It assists people to discover what a great life they already have, what they want to add to another area of their life and ways to achieve their dreams. Life Coaching is about people generating their own answers not looking outside for solutions. With the help of your Coach, you’ll work to examine your current situation, explore your current and future options, and get a clear idea of what you want, and how you can get it.
I will help you to discover what is important to you, including the changes that you want to make. I will help you to set goals, and to achieve these goals. I will work with you to eliminate any obstacles or blocks that stand in your way.
It is a way of talking about:
- How you think about yourself, the world and other people
- How what you do affects your thoughts and feelings.
CBT can help you to change how you think ("Cognitive") and what you do ("Behaviour)". These changes can help you to feel better. Unlike some of the other talking treatments, it focuses on the "here and now" problems and difficulties. Instead of focusing on the causes of your distress or symptoms in the past, it looks for ways to improve your state of mind now and for the future. CBT can help you to make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts. This makes it easier to see how they are connected and how they affect you.
These parts are: A Situation - a problem, event or difficult situation.
From this can follow:
Thoughts - Emotions - Physical feelings - Actions
Each of these areas can affect the others. How you think about a problem can affect how you feel physically and emotionally. It can also alter what you do about it. There are helpful and unhelpful ways of reacting to most situations, depending on how you think about them.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a highly effective system that seeks to change patterns of emotional and mental behavior in order that you can achieve more success, and enjoy a happier personal life. Many hypnotherapists train in NLP in order to do two things. Firstly, to communicate successfully with their clients and secondly, to help their clients communicate more successfully with themselves.
NLP stands for:
'Neuro' specifies that we are talking about the mind.
'Linguistic' refers to the science of language.
'Programming' refers to the fact that we are programming the way we use language internally.
NLP is often used as a vehicle for 'fast' or accelerated change. One of its underlying assumptions is that without NLP people can change and that over time these changes can be profound. The technology of NLP means that the same changes can happen very quickly.
Using a combination of all the above we can help you to overcome your problems in a fast and effective way, leaving you free to be able to enjoy your life to the full.
